Construction Unit

The preschoolers really enjoyed our construction unit. We learned about many different tools, equipment, and jobs that help us build all sorts of things. We also did a lot of our own constructing!

They loved using the tools to "fix" things in the room!

For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.

Geoboards!

We really love learning about shapes and discovering new ways to make designs on the geoboards! A few preschoolers requested pictures of their creations one morning!

Graphing

It was a very special treat to have the opportunity to graph with M&Ms!
After the students graphed them by color, we asked:
1. Which row has the most?
2. Which row has the least?
3. How many more would this row need to be equal to this row?
4. How many M&Ms are in the longest row?
And of course, they ate them when they were done graphing!

Special Visitors

We love welcoming visitors into our classroom. It's so much fun to learn new things from the great people in our community!
Dental Hygentist, Stacy Askelsen talked with us about ways we can take care of our teeth. The kids took turns pretending to be teeth, and she "flossed" in between them with a jump rope!

Librarian, Mr. Z came from the Ericson Public Library to read us a few books.
The preschoolers enjoyed meeting the new lion puppet.

 Saying the "Goodbye Poem."
A few students from the upper grades came to read to us during Lutheran Schools Week. I've never seen the preschoolers sit so still and quiet before! They loved listening to the "big kids."

Abraham Lincoln

Our principal, Mr. Gustafson visited our classroom dressed as Abraham Lincoln on Lincoln's birthday. When Mrs. Ullestad said, "Does anyone know who this is?" one of the preschoolers shouted, "the principal!" You can't fool these wise guys!
He read us a true story about President Lincoln.
The students really enjoyed it! When Mr. Gustafson visited our room a few days later, someone asked him, "Who are you today?" Apparently, he is now expected to come as a different character with each visit! ;)

Valentine's Day Parties!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the wonderful moms who helped with our Valentine parties! I'm finally getting a chance over Spring Break to post a few pictures. It's been fun looking back at the good times we had last month!

For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
