We have been talking about our community in preschool. On Monday, the Monday/Wednesday/Friday Class and the Afternoon Class took a walk around Boone to see some of the different workers in our community. We also took some time to stop and smell the flowers!
We walked through Casey's and noticed the workers that make the food and the workers that take our money when we buy gasoline or food.

We stopped at Barkmeier Auto Repair to see how people in our community fix cars.
We walked through Whistle Stop to see how chefs and waitresses work together to serve food.
We stopped in Jackson Medical Supply to see where people could go to get crutches, walkers, or other special medical supplies.
We also practiced looking both ways when crossing the street and staying in between the white lines of the crosswalk. A very special thank you to all the moms who walked with us! It was fun to get out of the classroom and explore our town!
Ask your children how they would like to help their community and what job they want to do when they grow up!
