Thanksgiving!

A few days before Thanksgiving, the Monday/Wednesday/Friday class and the afternoon class joined the Kindergarten class for a special Thanksgiving celebration!
First, we reenacted the first Thanksgiving. The pilgrims came to America on the Mayflower.
Then they met the Native Americans who taught them how to raise crops.
The pilgrims were very thankful for the help they received from the Native Americans.

Then it was time for the feast!

The preschoolers decorated their own place mats. They drew a picture of something they are thankful for. I was very impressed with some of the things they drew!

I hope you had a very blessed Thanksgiving! I am thankful for all of my preschoolers and their families!

Mike Marsh

Mike Marsh (that's his nature name) came from the YMCA Camp to talk with the Monday/Wednesday/Friday class and the afternoon class about owls.
He read us a great book about owls.
He showed us some pretty cool things about owl talons.
He taught us a new song that included lots of different owl sounds!
Then he introduced us to a real owl! He also talked about what we can do to explore and take care of the nature around us.
Take some time over Christmas Break to explore the nature around you with your preschooler! Ask them if they remember Mike Marsh!

During Center Time, the children have the option to explore in the sensory table. Here are a few pictures of the things we've had in it so far...

Painting!

We pulled out the easel a few weeks ago, and it is a huge hit!
Two children at a time take turns using the easel during Center Time and are allowed to paint up to two pictures per turn.
I love hearing them tell me about their paintings! We have a very creative bunch of preschoolers!
I hope you have been enjoying these masterpieces in your home as well!
